MANYARA NATIONAL PARK

Lake Manyara National Park is located right on the base of the Great Rift Valley . The park comprises 330 sq. km. The lake occupies about 220 km (80% approx.) and the dry land is 110 km (20% approx.). Lake Manyara National Park is famous and unique for its climbing trees lions.

The park is also known as an underground water forest. Another unique attribute of the park is the variety of primates such as baboons and monkeys. The park has about 400 species of birds. The migratory flamingoes, pelicans, spoonbills are a few among many species of birds to view at this gorgeous park.


As in other parks, Lake Manyara National Park contains a large number of hippos, elephants, buffalos, leopards, giraffes, zebras and impalas. Some parts of the park are covered by thick vegetation which produces sufficient food for the herbivorous.
